Back from the Future

With a perspective on the development of the Internet and Intranet a series of lectures was started at Gugler Print & Media in Melk.

A futuristic view of the development of the Internet was presented during a lecture on Internet development in Europe.

Especially Mag. Herbert Reininger, who just returned after six years in the USA talking about the latest in this area, impressed the packed audience.

"I am coming from the future", with these words he decribed the situation of the Internet in Europe. He presented the job description of an information architect, a profession already well developed in the USA, but widely unknown in Europe. This is a professional who tries to improve the usability of Web sites through a better organization of information structures.

"After all, it is not important how much and which information is presented, but whether the user can understand it and quickly finds what he/she is looking for."

University professor Dkfm. Stephan Köhl explained in his lecture the growing importance of a well designed Intranet for large corporations.
